Accommodation-Hotels

Several accommodation options are available in the city of Athens, however special fees have been agreed upon for the ICEAPVI participants, with the foolowing hotels:

METROPOLITAN *****

The Metropolitan Hotel in Athens, with its unique cosmopolitan flair, is one of the most elegant hotels in Athens which combine warm hospitality and urban luxury, in the vibrant city of Athens. Overlooking both the Acropolis and the Saronic gulf the hotel is situated in front of the Olympic coastal park and across the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, (to be completed by the end of 2015) and only 15 min ride away from the Athens historical city centre and the port of Piraeus from where all cruise ships depart for the islands. The Metropolitan hotel is ideally suited to leisure, business or cultural travelers, all year round in a city that never sleeps!.

The price for single room is 100 euros and the price for double rooms is 110 euros. In price is included breakfast,s buffet with all taxes

LEDRA HOTEL ****

• Conveniently located between city centre and port of Piraeus
• Shuttle bus to / from the city centre

The above rates are quoted in Euro, per room, per night.
Inclusive of all taxes and the American Breakfast buffet in our Zephyros restaurant only.
Should tax percentage change, given rates will be adjusted accordingly.

EMMANTINA ****

How to find us:

• To Reach the Hotel from the Airport
  Hotel Mini Bus: Pick-up service from the airport is provided for all our guests from Monday to Friday with our 13-seater mini bus which follows a fixed departure schedule. From the Airport to the Hotel: 09:00-11:00-13:00-15:00-17:00-19:00 From the Hotel to the Airport: 08:00-10:00-12:00-14:00-16:00-18:00 Guests are advised to make seat booking arrangements well in advance. For further questions, please contact the Reservations Department. The charge for that service is 15,00 Euro per person per transfer. Public Bus: You may use the Express X96 bus. The bus runs every 25 minutes, 24 hours a day. The bus terminal at the airport is outside Exit No 4. The fare is approximately 5,00 Euros per person and tickets should be bought from the bus driver. If you use this service, get off at "Glyfada 4th Bus Stop". The Emmantina Hotel is only 100 meters away from this bus stop. Taxis: Taxis are available right outside the airport. The taxi fare to reach the Emmantina hotel is approximately 35 Euros. There is a supplementary charge for each item of luggage.
• To Reach the Hotel from the Port
  Public Transportation: Take the Metro (Green Line) towards "Kifisia". Get off at "Neo Faliro" (1 stop away only) and change to the tram. Take tram no.3 towards " Voula". Get off at "Paralia Glyfadas" tram stop. The hotel is situated at no. 33 on the main highway called "Leoforos Posidonos".
• To Reach the Hotel from Athens Center
  Tram: Take tram no. 5 towards "Voula". Get off at "Paralia Glyfadas" tram stop. The hotel is situated at no.33 on the main highway called "Leoforos Posidonos'
  Public Bus: Take bus No. A2 from "Syntagma" square. Get off at " 5 th Glyfada Bus Stop"

ILISSOS ****

Hotel Ilissos, has a great location in walking distance from the Acropolis, Syntagma Square, and other famous landmarks. The Syngrou Fix tram and metro station are close by.

The hotel is easily accessible by all means of transportation, giving you comfortable access to and from every part of the city and its many attractions. The beaches of Athens are just 4 km away.

The hotel offers a 24-hour reception and a restaurant serving Mediterranean and international cuisine. The roof garden has a view over the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill and Philopappou Hill.

Nestorio Hotel is located in one of the best suburbs of Athens, in a highly standard building. The hotel has single and double rooms with the following facilities: Air conditioning, TV, Front desk 24 hour, Telephone and Free Wi-Fi.

It is situated very close to shops, banks, night clubs and it combines in the best way unique moments of relaxation and calmness with the option for business activities, walking around the city of Athens and experiencing the famous night life. Nestorion Hotel is situated in a very central location at Faliriko Delta, between the Amfitheas beach street and 50 m. away from Syggrou Avenue.

BLUE SKY

Blue Sky hotel is situated in Glyfada which is considered to be the most prestigious and beautiful suburb of Athens. Along the Apollo Coast with population of 150.000 people, Glyfada has wonderful beaches, a first class shopping center, amazing night life and an 18-Hole Golf Course, all of which attract many people both from Greece and abroad. Blue Sky hotel's distance from the beach and from the center of Glyfada is a 10 minute walk, from the tram and bus stops a 5 minute walk, yet it is located in a very tranquil and beautiful neighborhood of the city. The nearest metro station is a 10 minute drive.

Glyfada's distance from the center of Athens and the port of Piraeus is 40-50 minutes with the public bus service and the tram. The metro takes 15 minutes to reach the center of Athens. The Athens International Airport "E. Venizelos" is 30-40 minutes by bus.

Transportation Information

From the airport to downtown Athens

Athens Airport Railway/Metro Station

Getting to/from the Athens International Airport and the city center, located about 20 km (12 miles) east can be achieved via:

• 24-hour express buses: All buses leave passengers at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level, between Exits 4 and 5.

  

  There are four routes:
  • X93: Kifissos KTEL (long-distance buses) Station - Airport
  • X95: Syntagma - Airport
  • X96: Port of Piraeus - Airport
  • X97: Eliniko Metro Station - Airport
  One-way travel time estimates: X93 (65 min), X95 (70 min), X96 (90 min), X97 (100 min).
  Allow sufficient time to travel as traffic conditions may cause delays. For ticket info see Athens Transport tickets and cards.
• Metro Line 3: Take Metro Line 3 (Aghia Marina - Douk. Plakentias - Airport), which connects the Athens airport with the city center.

  

  Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The trip from/to the Airport to Syntagma station (Athens center) lasts 40 minutes. See the Metro timetable to the airport here. For ticket info see Athens Transport tickets and cards.
• Suburban railway: The Suburban railway (Proastiakos) connects the Athens airport with the Athens Central Railway Station (Larissis Station) and Acharnai Railway Center, and through them to the National Railway network.

  

  Current timetables: Airport - Kiato and Kiato - Airport, Kiato - Patra bus connections, Piraeus - Athens - Halkida line.
  Tip: The Suburban railway departs every 15-25 minutes from the Athens Airport railway station to Plakentias station, where you can change trains and continue to the city center (Metro Line 3 to Egaleo), using the same ticket.
• Taxi: A taxi from the airport to the city center costs a flat rate of ?35 from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and ?50 from midnight to 5:00 a.m.

Transportation to the conference venue

ICEAPVI-2015 will be held in Athens, Greece. The conference will be hosted at the Eugenides Foundation, 387 Syngrou Avenue, Athens.

Participants can get to the Eugenides Foundation by public transport. The following buses serve the Foundation:

• B2, 550, E22 (Onaseio stop)
• A2 (Iasonos stop)
• 126 (Trapeza stop)

You can catch all these buses at the Syngrou-Fix subway station.
