The Rector’s Council of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) approved on the 15th February 2011 the “Guidelines regarding suitable ways of testing students with disability”. These Guidelines are addressed to members of the teaching staff as well as to students with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, learning difficulties or severe diseases, in order to achieve inclusion and equal access to the academic function for all students of the NKUA.
The Accessibility Advisor Professor plays an important role in implementing these guidelines.
These Testing Guidelines indicate reasonable adjustments and accommodations depending on the type of each student’s disability and the restrictions it imposes; they aim to the uninterrupted participation of all students in the exams. Their purpose is by no means to interfere with the academic function or to restrict the academic freedom of each faculty member.
