As part of its obligations towards Students with Disabilities, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) aims to register their activity limitations and participation restrictions during their studies systematically, either they have entered the university by special law regulations or by regular/special national examinations, or they have acquired their disability during their studies.
During the second step of the student’s registration with the Accessibility Unit -following the initial Registration Application- a meeting (in person or remotely) with a member of the Unit staff is scheduled, with the aim of discussing in detail the student’s activity barriers and participation restrictions in academic life. These data are entered into the Student’s Activity and Participation Restrictions Recording Form (ReF) in myaccess system by the member of the Unit staff designated as the student’s contact person. During this meeting, all the Accessibility Services that the Unit can provide will also be presented to the student in detail. If further Medical Reports are required to justify the obstacles the student faces or the reasonable accommodations to be provided, the member of the Unit staff requests the student to upload them to myaccess. At the end of the meeting, the member of the Unit staff submits the ReF, and the student is asked to accept the data entered in it.
