Psychological Counseling Service
The Psychological Counseling Service is offered by the Psychological Intervention Unit of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). This service offers students from each department/faculty of the NKUA psychological support and help for any difficulty they may face during their studies; furthermore, it provides them the opportunity to acquire problem management and resolution skills.
The Psychological Counseling Service is free of charge and the meetings are confidential.
Students can receive support from the Service for the following:
- Problems related to academic life/studies: difficulties in adapting to the academic life, low performance, exam anxiety, difficulties with concentration, loss of motivation, procrastination etc.
- Problems with interpersonal relationships: difficulties with friendly, personal or family relationships, low self-esteem, loneliness etc.
- Anxiety/Phobias
- Mood disorders
- Eating disorders
The Psychological Counseling Service's opening hours are as following:
- Monday-Wednesday from 9:00 till 12:00, at the University of Athens Student Dormitory, FEPA A' (2-4, Olof Palme street) and
- Thursday-Friday from 9:00 till 12:00, at the University Club (15, Ippokratous and Akadimias street).
Students wishing to receive psychological support can make an appointment with the psychologist, Ms. Tzala Alexandra.
